While at Target today:

Silas and Eli - "Mom, can we get an icee?"

Me - "Nope. But we can get a slurpee at seven eleven."

Silas - "Why, Mom?"

Me - "I'll explain in the car..."

{in the car}

Me - "You know how there are 12 months in the year? Well, each month as a number. What do you think month number one is?"

Boys - "JANUARY!!"

Me - "Right. And, if February is number two, what is number seven?

Boys, in song as they counted on their fingers, "January, February, March and April, May, June and JULY!!! It's July!!"

Me - "Right. And does anyone know what today is?"

Silas - "It is Thursday, the eleventh."

Me - "How do you even know that? Okay, yes, it is the eleventh. So what does that make today?"

Boys, thinking... and thinking, "Seven.... eleven? Seven eleven. That sounds familiar.

SEVEN ELEVEN!!"

Me - "That's right, and in honor of today being seven eleven, 7-11 has FREE SLURPEES!!"

Boys - {go bananas, give each other a hug and cheer, "Free SLURPEES!!! BEST day EVER!!"

Well, as you can see we got our free slurpees today. I had the cutest photo idea. I wanted to get the boys lined up on the curb with 7-11 in the background, all slurping their slurpees. It would've been cute with the 7-11 stripes and sign. I passed about five 7-11's on the way home, trying to find one that wasn't busy. No such luck. Every single one was packed. That wasn't happening and I wasn't about to risk the lives of my children in the crazy 7-11 parking lots. A different curb had to do. {Sigh}. This one is blah, but what do you do. Their expressions are classic anyway. Can you tell Jeremiah loved his? It was the greatest. He drank every. last. drop.
