photo{s} a day, sixteen/seventeen: memory lane

I love three day weekends.

Wouldn't it be grand if we never had to work on Mondays?  You gotta admit - it'd be so nice.  I actually think I'd kind of look forward to working on Tuesdays.  Two days just doesn't quite cut it.  Saturdays are always nice, but let's face it - I spend most of Sunday dreading Monday.  But today {Monday}, tomorrow seems feasible.  I almost welcome it.

And of course, the best part about three day weekends are four day work weeks.  If I were in charge, every week would be a four day work week, and every weekend would be three days.

But since I'm not, let's get back to reality!

Yesterday, we went to church, came home for lunch, I took a quick nap with the baby, and I had a photo shoot in the afternoon.  We had plans to meet up for dinner with Dusty's family to celebrate his dad's and brother's birthday, but had a little bit of time to kill beforehand.  So, Dusty drove the boys around his old stomping ground, showing them the house he grew up in, where he went to elementary school, the parks he played at as a kid, etc.  We even stopped by Dusty's grandfather's grave {their great-grandfather}.  I love a good family history lesson.  It's nice to show the boys their roots and give them some insight into where they came from.  I had the perfect opportunity to do that with the boys this summer at our Huckabee family reunion and they just ate it up!  See, here.  So, yeah - it was fun to give them a Sniff history lesson as well!

Today has been a nice, mostly relaxing day.  There hasn't been too much of an agenda, rather than taking Baby J to the doctor for his "18 month" check-up {oops! He's actually 19 months}{don't tell}.

Of course, he is growing quite nicely and is healthy as can be.  At 18 months, he's non-stop, on the go.  The doctor asked me if he can say at least 6 words and I laughed.

Off the top of my head, he can say: mommy, daddy, Eli, shoes, I love you, diaper, stinky, car, box, truck, walk, drive, Lola, dog, night night, hotdog, apple juice, up, down, bath, xbox, iPad, hello, bye bye, hola, Dusty, laptop, etc. - you get the idea, right?  His favorite sayings are, "xbox ON", "xbox OFF", "uh oh", "OH no!", "I stinky", and of course, "I love you."

He is a walking tornado, getting into anything and everything.  He is obsessed with shoes, always wanting them on.  Lola is his very best friend.  He loves to play with cars and trucks and getting a bath may be his favorite thing.  Ice cream rocks his world.  He can make the biggest mess you've ever seen in 2.5 seconds, he is super playful, has more energy than anyone I know, is a huge flirt, and is so, so funny.  He also now knows this.  We all get quite the kick out of him.  He's a disaster and a lovable bug.  We couldn't imagine our lives without him in it.  Oh, and he does have red hair, despite what daddy says - and I blame his craziness fun personality on the hair ;)
