Zzzzzz....

What I wouldn't give to do this everyday.

I giggled to myself when I saw him.  He looked kind of pathetic - a little cut on his lip and most of his face was covered in dirt, like Pig Pen.  Hence, the b&w photo :)

It's the perfect day.  Sunny.  Warm.  A tease of the perfect Spring day in the middle of our San Diego "winter".  It's the kind of weather where you want to grab a blanket, lay it out in the grass and take a nap in the sun. - or lay in a hammock.  The only problem about this kind of day is --- that lull after lunch.  You're full, there's a warm breeze and your eyelids begin to slowly droop.  You know exactly what I mean.

In an effort to stay awake, I grabbed my camera to take a few photos around the school {I use photos all the time for newsletters, promotional stuff and/or the website}.  After I finished in one of the Kindergarten classes, I thought I'd take a peek at Eli, who I knew was sound asleep.

One of my favorite parts of every day is waking him from his nap around 2:00 p.m.  I barely nudge him and the smile emerges on his face before his eyelids even open.  He whispers, "Good morning, Mom."  I smile and think to myself, "this is the life."  These are the moments I wish I could bottle up.  It's like when you come home and your dog gives you a royal greeting, as if you're the most special person in the whole wide world.  That's Eli, everyday when I wake him.  I love it.  He's so innocent, so happy, so perfect.  He wraps his little arms around my neck and gives me the sweetest hug.  "Okay, mom.  Let's go."  We walk hand in hand to my office and wait half an hour for Silas to finish school.  It's our special mommy and E time.

I love him.
