good morning time.
"Mommy, can I pwease work out with you?"
"Of course you can."
"But Mommy!! I need weights."
How many times have we had this conversation? Every time Eli sees me working out {which is mostly on the weekends because I'm up before him on weekdays} he begs and pleads to work out alongside me. I don't mind at all -- he just gets frustrated because he doesn't have the equipment. So last night we were browsing the Dollar Spot and what did I come across? You got it -- weights! As in, plastic "weights" that he can actually lift. Of all the "prizes" he could pick, that was his choice. He was so excited he couldn't stop talking about it and all the while was "working out" in the cart!
This morning for whatever reason, he was sleeping late. It got to the point where I decided I'd go ahead and work out so I could get ready and get moving for the day. Not five minutes into it, I heard, {pitter patter, pitter patter} down the upstairs hallway.
"Mooooom. Hey, I thought I was going to work out with you!!"
"I just started, E. Come on, let's work out."
I figured he'd last about 5 minutes. Nope. He worked out with me for half an hour, doing every. single. move. He'd look over at me, grin ear to ear, and look back at the tv.
"Mom, we're getting muscles. How'd I get soo strong?"
{I giggle on the inside, as he lifts his plastic "weights". I love how proud he is of accomplishment.}
Seriously, the best workout ever. The two of us -- we had fun. Seeing the pure joy on his face was priceless. I have to say, if it were 4 months ago and I had been doing my Insanity or Asylum, perhaps I would've been annoyed because I wouldn't have been able to really "work out". I'm so glad I wasn't, because I would have missed out on such a sweet moment. I'm telling you - it was the best thing in the world. And besides, let's face it -- how much am I really doing at this point any way? Yeah, I'm still doing some cardio circuits and attempting to keep my arms, chest, back and legs as toned a I can -- but, I'm pregnant. Whatever. It was just me, my boy and our giggles early in the morning. Best. workout. buddy. ever.
Afterwards, he posed for a few photos. First a happy face. Then, a sad face.
In the meantime, Silas was peacefully sleeping. Perfection, I tell you. Look at this face. I only couldn't decide if I preferred color or b&w.
Eli decided he wanted a photo with his new favorite toy, his panda bear. He freaks out if it gets misplaced. "Frankie" is his new best friend.
Love. Love. Love.
Perfect morning. Now, onto make our Valentine's {yes, I know we're super early but I'm so on the ball this year. I think it's the "nesting"} :)
