photo{s} a day, nine: of dinner-time and flubber

Those two sound scary together, right?  Don't worry, flubber was not for dinner ;)

Silas is obsessed with science.  And when I say obsessed, I mean obsessed.  He lives, breathes, thinks, and dreams about science.  He is a self-proclaimed "geek".

He is constantly begging to do science experiments.  He gets ideas from watching video after video on youtube - that's his idea of a fun afternoon, folks.  Of course, everything he wants to do involves some sort of gas, chemical or fire and would need to be done in a lab with protective gear.  I was searching the internet for ideas of fun "experiments" and found the recipe to make flubber.  Sounds cool, right?  What little boy wouldn't want to make flubber.

He was begging to do an experiment last night and I just didn't have it in me.  I told him that we would do one tomorrow {today}, after school.  No doubt, the first thing he said to me this morning was, "Hey mom, do you remember that yesterday you promised we would do a science experiment today after school???"

"Yes, Silas.  I remember."

"Okay, well you promised.  Don't forget.  Got it?"

"Got it."

Not that he'd let me forget in a million, bazillion years, my friends.  Impossible.

So, as promised, we came home and did just that.  Well, okay... after a little rest time and dinner, that is.

Annnnd, the results are in ... ding, ding, ding ... he LOVED it.

#SUCCESS.

Eli wasn't so sure about it and it took about 10 minutes of Silas nagging him to convince him to touch it.  Ahhh, my boys.  Total and complete opposites.  Gotta love it.

I love this photo.  Three quiet boys, concentrating on dinner.  Typical ;)
the flubber.
cuteness, eating his dinner.
