How to Assemble a Super Duper Bike

So, remember Silas' Toy Story bike he just got for his birthday? Well, it was stolen sometime during the night. Yep - stolen. What has the world come to when someone steal's a 4 year old's bike off their front porch? I mean really - that's just down right ridiculous. I was at work and got a phone call from my mom who is in town for a visit, happily watching the boys. She informed me of the news and I immediately got upset. Of course I knew we'd go out and get him another one, but it's the fact of the matter.

When I got home, the first thing Silas told me was, "Mommy, I am so sad someone took my bike. I am just so mad, so so mad. We need a lock." So our big adventure this afternoon was going to the store to replace his birthday bike with a new one. Of course we went to Target and there were no Toy Story bikes, which is what he was looking for. There was only ONE 12" bike that was pretty plain - nothing "cool" like what he had before. However, I worked my mommy skills, convincing him of how cool this new bike was. Not to mention it was about $30 cheaper since there was no special theme. Since Eli was sick and not up for being toted around from store to store, we told Silas we'd get him something super cool to put on his new bike. We went down the bike accessory aisle and found him a Spiderman helmet and bell. Eli got to pick out something for his birthday from Mamaw and Papaw, so once he decided on an Iron Man truck and new Iron Man figurine (a much bigger one that makes really cool sound effects), all were happy and we paid for our stuff. I knew Silas would want his new bike put together as soon as we got home, and seeing that daddy is out of town and Papaw is in Texas, I knew I'd have to pull out my handy tools and have a go at it. I'm not gonna lie - I am pretty good at putting things together. This is mostly due to the fact that I am patient and can follow instructions. But enough bragging myself up - I'll just show you how easy it is.

Please note, the instructions state that this can be assembled in minutes. I guess if you don't make the cut, then maybe you earn some stupid points. Be assured, I did not.

Step One: Open Box

Step Two: Read Instructions

Step Three: Assemble

Step Four: Take a photo of finished assembly.

Result: One happy boy.

Step 5: Be sure you purchase a lock, so the new bike does not have the same fate as the stolen bike.

Step 6: After your now happy child rides his super duper new bike, be sure to lock it up. (While Silas was riding, he yelled out to us, "Mommy, Mamaw, this new bike is super duper duper!!"
