sick, sick, sick.
Ya know, I keep saying this has been one of the craziest weeks ever. Other than going to Disneyland on Monday, nothing about it has been normal/good/fun {you pick an adjective}. I'm not sure I have ever felt so bad ... in my life.
Last night, I came to my breaking point. I was laying in bed with a temperature of 104.7, lightheaded, heart beating unusually fast, intermittently going from chills to sweating profusely {more so than after a good workout} my back hurting so badly I could barely stand {along with all my other joints/muscles aching, but specifically my back}, stomach pain and just downright mis-er-a-ble. With some hesitation, I called the advice nurse at Kaiser. To be honest, I knew the flu has been going around. I've heard people are having extremely high temps and it is lasting around 3-5 days. This was day 4 and I was sure I would make a turning point ... soon. Surely, right?
Not so much. I've just been feeling worse ... and worse ... and worse.
I have literally been in bed since Wednesday. That is so not like me {even when I am sick}.
The nurse definitely thought I should be seen, so she booked me an appointment for Sunday morning. Long story short, after two hours, some lab work and an x-ray it turns out I have a kidney infection. Ugh. Great. I've never heard of anyone having one, thus had no real knowledge of what it is. Yikes. I was given an antibiotic shot {which killed!!} and a prescription for antibiotic pills and told if the fever persists to come back in.
Whew. Praying the fever resides quickly.
This has been my week - just me and the bug, trying to survive. He's been a good little buddy and I am ever so thankful there's no chance of him getting this. Seriously, what's a nursing mom to do when she gets sick??
OH, and how could I forget? Thanks to D for all his help with the kids this week and thanks to my MIL and my SIL for doing all my laundry and watching the big boys today so I could get some rest :)
OH, and one more thing ... on a positive note, at least I've gotten back into my blogging this week. I've had a lot of free time.
