In Need of His Rest

Today is one of those days where I have little to no motivation to do anything. It's cloudy out, a bit chilly and I am tired. And by tired, I mean exhausted. I'm sitting here at work in my office and it's quiet - school is out, and the only kids around are the preschoolers. I didn't necessarily have to come in to work today or this week at all, really - however, it's kind of nice to sit back here in silence. There's no rush to get anything done, but just get ahead on things. Silas is in school and Eli is being entertained by Nanny somewhere on campus. Sometimes I feel like I'm so busy that I don't have time to think - so, sitting in my office alone actually sounded appealing. I just need some time to think, to not think, and enjoy some solitude. I have a lot going on right now and desperately need an escape. Today, this is my prayer.

"Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in Him and He will do this:
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for Him"

Psalm 37:3-7

I pray that He will give me greater faith and patience. I seek to trust Him with every fiber of my being, so that I may live the life that He has called me to live - even when I don't always know what that means. I pray that I will put my confidence solely in Him - right now, in this very moment. I pray that He will be my strength, because on my own I am so very weak. May I quieten my soul, be still, and listen to His voice.
