until next time.
You know those post-Christmas blues? I kept waiting and waiting for the big letdown I get when it's all over, and yet, it didn't really happen this year. There's all the anticipation and excitement, which for me begins right around Halloween. It builds and it builds with all the decorations, the parties, the talk, and the magic feeling that just seems to be in the air. Of course it's a little sad when it's all over. I was really exited to not have that feeling this year.
Probably because the day after Christmas, when I normally would have experienced it was the day my parents came into town. We spent the week not really doing all that much, as we had quite the sick little house around here. There wasn't a day that someone wasn't sick. But, we still made lots of good meals, watched movies, played games, hung out, and even did a little bit of after Christmas shopping. And today, I find myself sitting in a quiet home - the big boys went to a movie with dad and JJ is napping - and everything just feels empty. Boy do I hate that feeling.
I know it'll go away.... it always does. But it's never any fun in the moment.
As always, I have to thank my parents for taking the time to invest in our lives. They make such an effort to be a part of our boy's lives, even living so far away. It's invaluable to me. Thanks for everything. Thanks for helping with the simple day to day things, like folding laundry or doing dishes. Thanks for taking the boys to the park, playing Clue, buying JJ a gazillion batteries, helping potty train JJ, or watching Si and E play video games, per their request. Thanks for putting up with me not feeling my best and my crazy need to keep the house as clean as possible, even still. Thanks for the visit and we look forward to the next. And for the turns in the new massage chair, you're welcome. ;)

Getting these three to sit still for a photo is next to impossible these days. Almost.

This has become one of my dad's favorite spots to eat - Point Loma Seafood. It's great food and a fun view! We've all been so sick, the only chance we had for our traditional photo had to be after lunch on the way to the airport! Sad, but we got it!

JJ was soooo ready for a nap at this point. But, he's still looks cute {and perhaps a little too innocent for how he was acting when we took this}
To the right is the new massage chair. It's pretty ridiculous. Merry Christmas to us! Ha! Oh, and I added to my photo wall, finally! Yay!
