i like it, i love it.
Life's so busy, you guys. I mean, how many times can a girl say the same thing? I think I must resolve myself to the fact that it's not gonna slow down anytime soon at this point. But, it's good busy.
So, what's new? Silas started his own business, Looms4U. He saw some kids "looming" around the school and became interested in it. He told me, "Mom, I just think it's so awesome to be able to create something with my own hands and give it to people." I adore the pure sincerity in his heart. You absolutely should've seen the look on his face when he made his dad one and delivered it to him. Dusty wears it everyday and actually, that's kinda how the business started. He'd also been inquiring about wanting to make his own money, so I suggested that maybe he could sell some of his bands. Dusty wore it to work, therefore advertising to his students, and voila - his business began.
Kind of bad timing, as school is ending, but he made 30+ bands in a week at $2-3 a pop. Not too shabby for an eight year old. He's super proud and adorably cute at the same time. No doubt, Eli is now inquiring about setting up a lemonade stand because he needs his own business, too. He'd like to get started building the stand today. Oh, and he'd love all different flavors of lemonade and has the idea to sell cornbread with it. Advertising? No worries. He can just whip up some posters. He's a man on a mission.
What else? I went with Silas to his end of the year field trip. Dusty and I went to the Jr/Sr Banquet at his school, San Diego had a heat wave, we went on a double date to the Tim McGraw concert {gush, gush} and Dusty went on Senior Retreat this week so I had the kids solo for a few days. Sooo, yeah. Life in full force.
But more about Tim McGraw. Who even knew I was a fan? I mean, Dusty's uncle got us two tickets last year and I think I fell in love. Secretly. We still laugh to this day, because I'm naturally an introverted person and don't typically show too much emotion on the outside. I'm a tough cookie to figure out. When we got in the car he asked, "Uh, did you have fun?" And I was all, "I HAD THE BEST TIME!!" Now, we have this little code. If Dusty is ever confused about if I'm enjoying something or how I'm doing, all I have to do is say, "Tim McGraw" and he knows - okay, she's good.
I've been searching for months to see when/if he was coming back to San Diego, dying to go again. Sure enough, we got tickets again this year - except this time we got four. We went with Dusty's brother and my SIL and of course, had the best time. My husband may or may not think I'm certifiably crazy because I've already looked to see what other cities his tour is going to be in. Can we say groupie? Ha! And yes, he will be in Dallas in August and I think that's the perfect excuse to go to Texas. Oh the things you didn't know about me.
