friday five.

TGIF.  Enough said.

Right?  Okay, okay - there's more to say than that.  This week has been interesting trying to get back on our schedules.  Kids + messing with routine = interesting.

Here's the scoop on what we've been up to.

Dusty:  D had to get back to work this week.  He didn't get a two week spring break.  Poor guy.  Luckily, there were no classes on Monday so at least it was somewhat of a shorter week.  Things are in full gear, with only 7 weeks left of school.  Working at a school myself, I know it's chaotic.  So much to do and so little time.  I know Dusty has enjoyed having us back home and getting life back to normal.  Although, he did mention this morning that he's ready for me to be back to "normal" work because my relaxed work week totally messed up his typical routine.  I get that.  My Type A, inflexible personality totally gets that.

Me:  Speaking of my "relaxed" work week, I only worked 8:00 - 12:30 p.m. each day and the office was closed today.  That meant no rushing out the door at 6:45 a.m. and having more time in the day to spend with the boys, which I know they've enjoyed.  This also meant getting baby J back on track in the office.  It seems like every time we are finally getting into the swing of things, something interrupts our routine.  He had to readjust to napping in the office and not being held and spoiled all day by Mamaw and Papaw.

I definitely had some time to relax a little bit and also slowly get geared up for next week, where I'll be back to full gear.  Can't say I haven't enjoyed a little break.  9 more weeks til summer!!  {Our school starts after Dusty's, so he gets out earlier}{<--- i="">In my head, I know this is fair, but also not fair!
}
In the office with this guy.  Finally napping.

Silas {a.k.a. The helper}:  Silas grows smarter and wittier by the day.  I am often amazed by some of the things that come out of his mouth.  Mostly because I'm like how do you know that?  Ha, sometimes I think he's already smarter than mommy!  Boy is wise beyond his years.  Silas got to spend lots of time with mommy this week, because I let him stay in the office with me while I was working {instead of him going to daycare}.  He thought this was pretty big stuff.  We did have to keep it a secret from Eli though.  We enjoyed lots of chit chatting, trips to the gas station for a soda {or in his case, a slurpee}, eating lunch together and him helping me entertain the baby and get stuff from the printer for me.  He loves to be a helper and his face simply lights up when he is being of service to me.  He literally beams.

I also taught him how to address and mail his very first letter.
Eli {a.k.a. The Snuggler}:  Lately, Eli is momma's boy.  For real.  He wants every ounce of my attention, affection, snuggles, you name it.  I love that kid.  Sometimes it's hard not to feel somewhat guilty.  I know the past 9 {okay, almost 10} months have been very time consuming with the baby.  He was the baby for 4 years, so this was quite the adjustment.  For the most part he has handled it quite well and adores his baby, but he's not gonna be shy about wanting my attention.  Honestly, I am glad he can voice it rather than holding it in, so I know how to respond.   He takes every opportunity to say, "Mom, you are the most beautiful."  "Mom, can I have a hug?"  "Mom, can I lay next to you?"  "Mom, I want to be with you."  I love the sweet moments we have been sharing.

Jeremiah {a.k.a. The Destroyer} - Wow.  We are beginning to think this child is going to be a beast.  A mess.  A Destroyer.  He's nuts, I tell you.  He will be sitting across the room watching his brothers play or wrestle and his arms and legs are flapping like crazy.  He can't wait to join in on the action.  His little hands go crazy when he gets excited about something.  This child is faster than lightning and will grab something before you even know something was there.  He has officially ripped apart his carseat hood so many times, I gave up and took it off.  He takes it completely apart.  As my all time favorite workout inspiration Shaun T would say, "He's bananas yo!"   {If you've ever done Insanity, you'll get this!}  I wish people could see this child in his element.  When we are out and about, he is so clingy to me and afraid someone else will take him, I don't feel many people have seen his "crazy" side yet.  He's a lovable little monster and just learned how to give kisses.  Melt. my. heart.  He does it on command and he's had to give mommy about a bazillion already ;)

destroying his seat.
I love my sweet family and am blessed beyond measure.  Happy Friday everyone, from our family to yours!
