10 month check-up

Long and lean.  Yes, my friends, that is how my baby was described today.  The same baby that has been called every name in the book, from chubs to fatty to fat baby or chunky monkey - you name it, he's been called it.  Both he and I looked at one another simultaneously and I just know he was thinking, "You're talking about ME?"  I laughed and I am positive he was laughing on the inside.  No doubt.

Today baby Jeremiah had his "9 month check-up" at 10 months.  Somehow I have dropped the ball at having our well baby checks at the appropriate times.  His 6 month was at 7 months... etc.  {third baby, third time relaxed mom syndrome}  I mean, thinking about how I was with my first baby is laughable in comparison.  I guess that's why baby J is so laid back and chill.
He weighed in at 20 pounds, 8 ounces, which was 35th percentile for weight.  He measured 30 inches {75th percentile} and well, he's topping off the charts at 95th percentile for his head {all my babies had big heads}.

I don't know if you remember last week {or if I even blogged about it}, but we went to the doctor and Silas had a double ear infection, baby had an ear infection and all three boys had pink eye.  Eli's ears were questionable, but he didn't get an antibiotic.  Today wrapped up Silas and Jeremiah's tenth day on their antibiotics and I just knew Jeremiah still wasn't better.  Sure enough, not only was the one ear worse -- but now it was both ears.  Poor guy had to get a very painful antibiotic shot and has to go back on Tuesday to check them out again.  I am amazed at how pleasant he is, despite his ears {which I think never cleared up from his first infection awhile back -- that also required two full doses of antibiotics}  I'm telling you, this child is an angel baby.  He has his moments, but for the most part is just the sweetest.

At 10 months, he is still toothless {like his big brother}, is beginning to pull himself up, still not crawling but very close, loves to eat a variety of foods including oatmeal, yogurt, green smoothies, sweet potatoes, squash, zucchini, potatoes, carrots, rice, peas, etc., has had two haircuts, laughs hysterically at his brothers, has many unique facial expressions, loves his bath more than anything {as well as the pool}, loves Mickey Mouse, loves to play peek-a-boo, and ya know - like a million other things.  Let me just sum it up by saying he's the best and the cutest and we love him.
