Fun in the Sun

We're getting closer.  Summer is on it's way!

The weather lately is sooo sporatic - one day it's cool, the next day it's hot.  I'm just ready for the hot.  The past two days have been unbelievably amazing.  When it's warm enough to go to the pool, I'm one happy camper.

So, yesterday and today I took the boys to the pool after work.  And boy are they loving it.  Silas is finally able to swim without floaties, so this is huge for him.  I love seeing the proud grin on his face.  He is so innocent and sweet -- there's nothing like seeing pure joy reflect off your kid's face.  Nothing.  Yesterday he proclaimed, "I DID IT!  I DID IT!  I cannot believe I did it.  That was so awesome.  Wow!  I am so happy I finally did it!!!"  {heart melts}

It is important to note that although the weather is nice, the pool is still f.r.e.e.z.i.n.g!!!  It takes me about 5 minutes to completely get in.  I know they say just jump right on, but I just can't do it.  I'd be standing by the pool for an hour.  I'm an ease into the pool slowly kind of girl.  Of course Silas jumps right on in and then tells me, "It's okay mom, you just have to be brave.  Be brave.  You can do it!"  Thanks for the encouragement, Si.

Silas has always been a little water bug.  I've been taking him to the pool since he was a baby, so we've had many a fun day in that pool.  Eli, on the other hand, prefers walking around the pool -- never making it past the first step.  He doesn't mind being splashed, but for some reason is freaked out to get in.  I don't get it.  He's just particular about water.  He loves getting a bath, but hates getting his hair washed.  I guess his problem is he doesn't like water near his head, ears or eyes.  He freaks out every morning when I wash his hair and cries until I get him a towel to wipe his hair and face.  It's just funny because Eli is our easy going one -- except when it comes to the pool.  It does make it easy though, because he's too afraid to barely put his toe in, much less jump in.  I obviously watch him and he has on a suit where it would be impossible to sink, but I don't have to stress out about him around the pool.

Today I thought I'd grab my camera and take a few shots (even though the lighting is horrendous) and capture some of their fun.  So, enjoy! :)

Just chillin'
Relaxing after swimming across.
This is what I saw when I looked up from my chair (don't worry, Dusty was watching Si :)
I love this cute bottom.
