"We will, we will - Rocket!"
So, today we were in Target - is this shocking to you? - and Silas busted out to the tune of "We Will Rock You". I didn't know he even knew this song, but apparently learned it at the Father's Day Picnic at school. Quickly, I realized he was singing it incorrectly. Rather than singing "rock you", he was singing "rocket", obviously misunderstanding the words. And no, he didn't mean "rock it" but was thinking of a rocket that flies in space. I laughed when Eli chimed in on the "rocket" and then I told Silas that it was "rock you". So, here is a video of them belting it out in Target after learning the correct version. They were having fun and we did get a few stares, but hey, they're pretty darn cute if you ask me. If you listen closely, Eli says "rocket" a couple time.
Today Eli was sitting on my desk and we were talking while waiting on Nanny to arrive. I asked him, as I commonly do, "What is your name?"
Typically the conversation goes as follows:
Me - "What is your name?"
Eli - "Eli" (except he pronounces it eye-li)
Me - "Eli, what?"
Eli - "Eli Jackson" (eye-li ack-son.)
Today, when I asked him "What is your name?", he responded, "Eli what."
Maybe I should stop saying "Eli what" every time I ask him his name...
