silas' 8th birthday - {a MAD science party}
Silas' MAD Science Party was a huge success. My expectations were exceeded and I think this may have been my favorite party to date. It was no fuss, no stress, extremely low key {since the guy showed up, set up, and tore down everything}, and every single kid had a blast. I mean, it was the perfect day for Silas.
When I asked him what he thought, he noted, "I thought it was going to be good... but not that good. It was GREAT." The "Mad Scientist" did a fantastic job and I couldn't give better reviews. Hands down, awesome. And I love how we did it. Typically, we have a big family party on the weekend. This year, we opted to do it at school. This way, his entire class got to be a part of it, all of his cousins were pulled in as well, and it was on his birthday. Since it was educational, I got the okay for it to take up class time. The entire presentation was a little over an hour, but the kids were on the edge of their seats the entire time, giggling up a storm. There were plenty of "ohhh's" and "ahhhhh's" to be heard. I wished everyone could have experienced it.
Can't. beat. that.
Here's some photos from our day. Silas was one happy camper - I mean, scientist.

I didn't have a lot of space to decorate, but had fun with the little details, nonetheless.

I wish we would've taken this photo after the party. This was before, right when he met the guy. I think he was a little unsure... at first!

Papaw flew in for the party. He hasn't missed a birthday yet - nine years and counting.

I loved the goodie bags: a magnifying glass, an atomic bouncy ball, a test tube filled with rock candy, and the best - nerds.

Eli got in on the fun too. He cracked me up - I could hear his little giggle over all the kids, the whole time.

Silas was in heaven.

He made sure all his cousins got to participate.

{Shhhh!} It was just as fun for the adults, as the kids.
11:06 a.m. - the moment he turned eight!
We ended the night at Peter Piper Pizza as a family. It was great. We were basically the only ones in the whole place. It was calm, quiet, and so enjoyable.
Little hams. Their prizes for all their hard earned tickets. Notice Eli's bling. They both got one. Mmm hmm. Not lying.
