visiting another country.

well, Texas.   Although Eli unknowingly refers to Texas as another country, it's kinda true!

We snuck out a few days early from school, beginning our "Easter vacation" on Wednesday, rather than Friday. The boys were more than okay with that. Dusty is going on a mission trip with his school to Costa Rica, so there was no doubt where the four of us were headed if he was going to be gone. My only hesitation was tackling an airplane with three boys solo, but turns out that was a piece of cake. Baby slept the entire trip and the boys had iPads {enough said.}

The boys have big plans for our trip including fishing, the alligator farm, the zoo, an indoor water park, Chuck E Cheese, the movies, etc. So far we've been checking off that list quite nicely and the boys are having a blast. Mamaw and Papaw are happy as can be too -- no doubt!  Of course I am enjoying a break from work and the everyday routines of life :)

Here's a few photos from our trip so far.

three boys on a plane.  they really were little angels {several people commented to me that agreed... always a pleasure and a proud mommy moment.}

trying {licking} a churro.
Silas proclaimed, "I found my new true love." {referring to Taco Bell's new churros}

first sippy cup.
time with Papaw.
We were looking at the bears and all the while, Eli was more mesmerized by a squirrel.  I did get him to finally come look and take a photo ;P
maybe their favorite part of the zoo - feeding the birds.

he enjoyed the zoo, too!
he loved the giraffes.
at Chuck E Cheese.

Eli is such a Momma's boy these days.  Can't say that I mind all that much...
