to Silas on your 7th birthday.

To Silas on your 7th birthday-

Good grief, kid... I know I say it every year, but how are you seven?!  I promise you, I blinked and somehow you grew from a baby to a full on boy in an instant.   Did you pull one of your magic tricks on me?  I am imagining this, right?

In all seriousness though, I am one proud momma.  You've got to be the coolest and sweetest seven year old I know.  You are funny, too smart for your own good, creative, loving, the best big brother on the planet, sensitive, and most importantly, have a genuine heart for God.  At seven years old you enjoy spending time with your family, going to Disneyland, playing games on the iPad, you love church, ice skating, playing with your brothers, making new friends wherever you go and even though you'd probably say it isn't so, you also love school.  You have always had such a wild imagination and I am forever fascinated at the things you are able to come up with.  Lately you've been making your own "movies" in iMovie and I am blown away at your creativity - how you can think of an idea and implement it from start to finish...without help.  You are exceptional.  You are talented.  You are one of a kind, sweet boy.

There are a million things I love about you, but most of all, I love your heart.  I love how you care.  I love how you think.  I love how you love so deeply.  So often, I sit down and wonder how on earth I was blessed to be your mom.  There are few moments in my life that are so distinct I can replay in my mind as if I were there again.

The moment I saw you, was a moment like no other.

It was an instantaneous, pure and unconditional love.  It was then that I knew "love at first sight" existed.  I had never in my life seen anything so beautiful, so breathtaking.  Wow, child - you were {still are} stunning.  Right then and there, I knew that I was the luckiest girl on the face of the planet, because you were mine.  You were entrusted to me by God and this is a job I do not take lightly.  I am forever blessed to be known as your mom.  Thank you for making me a mom. Thank you for showing me a love I have never known and that I could never describe.  Thank you for simply being YOU - Silas Daniel Sniff.  You are loved far beyond words.  I love you more than anything in the whole wide world ever, to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond.  You rock!

Love,

Mom

One of your iMovie masterpieces.
You wanted a Jurassic Park party.  There's not really much "jurassic park" party stuff.
But, Mimi came through on the cake.  She is amazing.

Pretending to blow out the unlit candles.

You and Eli, ready to light the candles.

Papaw has never missed your birthday party.

My big 7 year old.

All of your birthday parties.
