CHRISTmas festivities.

Today was the last day of school til the new year. I can't wrap my head around the fact that the school year is half over, Christmas is basically here and soon it'll be over. There's so much anticipation leading up to Christmas -- so many things to do, gifts to purchase, parties to attend, etc... there's no doubt the true reason we celebrate can easily get lost in the mix. Sadly, we often become overwhelmed, exhausted and sometimes lacking the "Christmas spirit" altogether. If that's the case, our focus is definitely not centered on "the reason for the season."

We had our school Christmas play last night and parties today. The boys were so excited and both did an outstanding job {I'm one proud mommy over here}. I am so thankful for the boy's school because they instill Truth into their hearts on a daily basis and that's invaluable. Eli told me yesterday that Santa and elves and presents are fun and all, but that's not what Christmas is all about. Si quickly chimed in, "yeah- it's all about Jesus and the best gift we could ever get is Him!"

 Indeed.
