My cup runneth over...

My two little messes! It doesn't get better than this. Sometimes I feel like my life could be a tv show, because I am constantly entertained. It seems as though I'm always laughing at one, the other, or both of them.

Silas - where to even begin? This child is a little comedian. I don't know where he comes up with half the stuff that comes out of his mouth. He knows just how and when to put on his charm. He definitely hates awkward situations where he gets in trouble, embarrassed, etc. He knows just the silly little face to make, dance to jig, or thing to say that will get Dusty and I laughing as we are attempting to correct him. His personality grows by the day, as does our love for him. He is a very special little boy. I don't think many people get to see his true colors, because he can be rather reserved around other people. He will open up to a degree, and is a thousand times better than he used to, but not the crazy little person that I post videos of on facebook for the world to see. I love that kid so much it hurts!
He is always quick to tell me, "mommy, I love you. Can I give you a hug and a kiss?" or "mommy, please hold me" or "Eli is my brother. He is so cute. He is my best friend". You get the idea. He melts your heart! Not to mention he is absolutely gorgeous. I hear all the time that he should be a little model. I agree :)

And then there's Eli. He is quite the little adventurer. Don't turn your head for literally two seconds or you will not find him. He thinks everything is a game and loves to laugh. Most of the time, you will find him smiling ear to ear...unless he is tired or hungry. Then, stay clear! I would describe Eli as full of life and passionate, very much like his daddy. Even though he loves to see what's around the next corner, find every nook and cranny in the house to hide toys, has the capacity to eat the entire contents of the pantry, he is also a little lover. He loves to come up to you and give you a big hug and kiss and is quite the snuggler. He often will fall asleep rubbing my hair...always has. His big blue eyes and chubby cheeks will make your heart happy. I don't know if it's possible for him to be any cuter or sweeter.

And then there's Silas and Eli together. Like Dusty and I, they are as opposite as night and day. From their eating and sleeping habits, to their personalities. Sometimes they will play together as sweet as can be, but they often drive each other crazy! Silas is so detailed oriented and like things just so. Eli likes to make a mess, and typically of whatever Silas is doing. Silas can be whiny and demanding, whereas Eli is happy go lucky and goes with the flow. But both are genuinely sweet and loving. Dusty and I were laughing the other day, when we had a rare opportunity to go out to lunch and a movie. We saw this group of middle school boys walk past and we both looked at each other and kind of laughed both thinking the same thing. "What do you think our boys will be like as teenagers?". That's so impossibly crazy for me to wrap my mind around. I cannot even begin to put myself in that place. The time goes fast enough as it is, but it's a crazy, crazy thought! Ha, I just heard Silas' voice in my head saying, "mama, you are crazy" in his silly, adorable way. That's one of his new phrases that he'll say, then laugh hysterically. But anyhow, as I've seen over the past few years, time is a funny thing. It seems as though I have never lived life without them in it, but also wonder where the time has gone. I seriously try to soak up all the silly, funny times we have because I know it'll be over before I know it. I look at this picture of Eli laughing and Silas with his arm wrapped around us both being their sweet selves and it makes me smile. They will not stay this small long, but the memories will linger in my heart forever. I love the line from the movie, "Hope Floats" where she says, "my cup runneth over". And it truly does.
