field trippin'
End of the year field trips are upon us. I love these days because it's precious one-on-one time with my boys. And today, it was Eli Jackson's day.
Moments with Eli melt my heart. Eli has the biggest heart imaginable and all he wants to do is make you happy - even though it's his day. I practically had to force him to get a prize and ice cream. "Mom, I don't need anything.. it's okay. You don't need to spend your money on me." And the thing is, he is completely serious and doesn't mean it in an Eeyore type way. Dusty happened to call while we were in front of the ice cream store and Eli only agreed to get a cone after dad said he had to. Ha! I kid you not.
If you know Eli at all, you'll smile just imagining his typical Eli response - {shoulder shrug}{grin}{laugh} "weeeelllll, okay." {shoulder shrug}
Kid makes my heart burst. I can't even look at him without feeling all warm and fuzzy, so spending the day with him is pure joy. I am so thankful for his sweet spirit, his true selflessness, and his heart of gold. He's kinda my hero... I'd love to be just like him!

The interesting thing is I often say that Eli is the most personality and appearance like one of my kids as a child. Many times when you were growing up I said Melissa is my hero. All this to say that I felt/feel the same way about you❤️. Eli is a special young man, gifted by the Spirit with encouragement.
