our fun, Friday night!
Last night we had the privilege of going to the boy's school for Open House. It's all they could talk about all week and they were super excited to show us all they've been up to. Cutest ever.
In fact, Eli had no less than a bazillion questions for me this week. "Uhhh, so 5 o'clock. Is it a.m. or p.m.?"
"Is it a normal school day or are we just doing fun papers?"
"Are we gonna be late to Open House?" {except he was asking me this on Wednesday, not Friday!}
"Who's class are you going to visit first, mine or Silas'?"
And on and on the questions went. He needed every. single. detail.
It kinda makes me giggle just a bit on the inside because I do work there. I'm very aware of what their typical day looks like and how they're doing in class, since I consciously make the effort to check in on them and I'm in and out of all the classrooms. Yet, it's still the best thing ever that they have the opportunity to show us around and for us to see how hard they're working - because they do work hard!
Their curriculum is accelerated. JJ, in the three year old class, is working in a phonics learning to read program and will be on Kindergarten curriculum next year. Eli, who is in 2nd grade, works on a 3rd grade curriculum and Silas, in 3rd grade, works on a 4th grade curriculum. Not only are they pushed, but they push themselves. Both boys wanted to participate in Math Club this year because Eli "wants to learn and already knows that multiplication thingy but really wants to learn that other one" {division} and Silas "doesn't like math at all and wants to be better at it!" Of all the electives they could have chosen, they were both pumped about this one! Cracked me up!
Anyone that reads my posts, Facebook, or Instagram knows I rave about our school. I just have to. I have never seen a program like it and hands down, we have the most incredible staff ever. The love that is poured into them on a daily basis is invaluable, not to mention the Christian curriculum and Truth that is instilled into their hearts all day long. It just comes down to the fact that I believe in our school and feel so incredibly blessed to work there and have my kids there. I do not take for granted the opportunity that they've been given and it is such a gift to our family. That's all.
